Another set of templates up!

I've got another set of templates up in the Scraphead store. Check them out:

They are similar to the 8x8's, but not all are the same. These are the LO's I used to make my vacation album. You can see them here, here, here and here.

Today was a normal type day. I didn't manage anything quite so productive as cleaning today. But it can't happen every day. I did get some more templates done. I'm working on getting a bunch of 12x12 packs up in the store, but I have to make them first. I had finished one and had clicked the save button, the little gray bar was scrolling across the bottom of the screen when my power went out. Urgh. It didn't save. Luckily it was a past LO I was converting to a template so it won't be too much work to redo it.

We went to Walmart this evening to get a baby seat for our second bike and bike helmets. That way we can all go biking together. Unfortunately, after spending quite a bit of time trying to put it together in the oh so hot garage, Anton determined that it wasn't going to fit on the bike. So we'll either take it back, or try and get a longer bolt for the part that isn't fitting. I was so excited to go on a bike ride too. Oh well, it'll just have to wait.

I've been reading a couple of books lately, both of which are pretty good. One is The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry. It's kindof a Davinci Code type book, which I like. Secrets and puzzles and a religous cover-up to unveil. I'd read another of Berry's books in the past, The Amber Room, and it had too much vulgarity in it for my tastes, but this one hasn't been bad.

The other book I'm actually listening to while walking. It's my motivation to get me to go. I'm only allowed to listen when I'm exercising. This one is Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer. I think it's a young adult fiction, but it's and interesting story. A comet has hit the moon and knocked it into a closer earth orbit and everything is in chaos. It's about how this girl and her family survive it all. Makes you think about what you would do in like situation. It's interesting enough to keep me walking.

Another day, the first dollar.

I have been going walking for 1/2 and hour every evening after the kids go to bed and I'm really starting to see a difference in my energy levels. Today this caused me to sweep and mop my kitchen floor. Those who know me well know this is a miracle, since I hate to clean. But when I actually have the energy it's not as bad.

I've really caught the design bug and have been making new templates left and right. A new set should be up in the store at Scraphead soon. I'll let you know when and what! I've also started on another project with the fabulous Minna Rajala that I should be able to announce soon too. So many fun and exciting things!

We made an attempt to go to the pool this afternoon. We wanted to go to the big pool on base so Anton and I could take turns swimming laps, but for the life of us we couldn't find our goggles. The kids like to play with them and have secreted them away somewhere. I was so frustrated. So intead of going to the big pool we decided to just go to the little kiddie pool that's closer. No sooner had we got there and got all settled in the water when thunder was heard in the distance. Which of course means we all had to get out. We didn't even bother to wait around we just headed back home. Now I'm glad we didn't find the goggles because we would have driven much farther only to have to turn around and come home. Blessings don't always come like we expect. I just hope now we can find the goggles.

We also went out to dinner tonight. We went to a little cafe that used to be a gas station. Most of the tables are outside, but at 100 degrees I had no desire to sit out there. So we grabbed one of the 6 inside ones. There was one other guy in there eating alone and he struck up a conversation with us about how the government is failing us and so on and so on. We were polite but didn't drag out the conversation. Our food arrived and we set in to our food. After this man left the waitress came up and told us he had picked up our check!! Now I feel so bad that I was annoyed with him talking to us and I wish I could thank him somehow. Isn't that so cool? It's something you only hear about in movies and such. Of course we celebrated by getting desert. Yum. The food there was really good.

I had to rush straight from there to a meeting for church. Nothing too exciting there. Then my evening walk and now on the computer for some more designing! Though I just looked at my clock and realized it was much later than I thought. Tomorrow should be a laid back day since Anton will have the car at work all day. Hopefully the kids will be sane tomorrow. Sorry I didn't have any fun pictures or LO's for you tonight. I'll make up for it soon, I promise!!

And as for the first dollar mentioned in my title, my templates have already sold! Too bad I can't get that first dollar to put in a frame on my wall like a restaurant!

I'm a designer!!

It is now official! I am going to be selling my templates at Scraphead! It's so weird to think of myself as a "designer." Do you want to see my first product? Here it is:

Other than that today has been a fairly normal day. Full of things like folding laundry and grocery shopping. Fun. We did go to dinner tonight at our friends' house. That was a lot of fun. I like hanging out with them and Anton and I get along with both of them, which is always a plus.

Anton didn't get to do his flight this morning because he failed the flight brief. Before flying the instructor quizzes them on everything they will be doing in the flight that day. Well his instructor today was a bit harsh and it didn't go well, to say the least. So he has to do the brief again tomorrow with a higher ranking guy. Hopefully all goes well. He's been studying like crazy.

Where do they get it?

Kids that is. Alex had been so funny today. We have this purple backpack that a baby doll came in and well...this you just have to see:

(No fancy editing on the photos, sorry!) He literally wore it all day long except when he was eating or sleeping. If we took it off him he would bring it right back over and ask for it to be put back on. He wore it while reading:

What a goof! If he keeps this up I'm going to have to go buy a nice manly backpack, 'cause I just can't have my little boy walking around with a purple backpack on! Maybe this has something to do with the pink sheet on his bed. Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn't be so cheap and should go buy him some boy sheets for the crib. Or not. But he is just SO CUTE!! See:

Now Ella, not so much laughing today. We've been having a problem lately when she has to go to the bathroom. She'll get all the way into the bathroom then just stand there and pee all over. Actually it's not always in the bathroom, our carpet hasn't been so luck either. So today I got fed up and put a diaper on her. She was so mad at me. She kept throwing crusty looks my way. But she got over it soon enough. I hope this doesn't cause her to regress. What a terrible mom I am! :o)

Today I scrapped a page that I swapped with Andrea for the ADSR. We had to place our pictures and title the way we wanted it then send it to the other person for embellishment. Here's what I did with hers:

Tonight for Family Night we talked about gratitude. Then we did something we should have done ages ago. We wrote thank you's for everything from Christmas on! How terrible is that! It has unfortunately become a bad habit for me to not send out my Christmas Thank You's until July or so. At least they are getting sent, right?

Anyways, enough rambling for tonight. Anton kept me up far too late last night finishing Harry Potter so tonight I need to get to bed at a decent hour. Have a great night!

Sunny, HOT, Sunday

It was so hot today. It's 8:40 at night and the air conditioner is still trying to catch up. Yuck. Luckily the only time I had to be outside was walking to and from the car to get to church and back.

Alex threw up on me in church. Such fun. I had to control my gag reflex the rest of the time 'cause I stank!! Other than that church was the usual piano playing and such.

I managed to finally get the other LO done that was due today. Here it is:

Lots of credits on this one, since it was a challenge for the ADSR and we couldn't use more than 2 things from any one designer. So to see the full list go here.

Anton has been plowing his way through the last Harry Potter. I'm dying for him to finish so we can talk about it. I've had to keep my mouth shut for a week now! Such torture.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to get my blood sugar tested. I've been incredibly tired all the time lately and just need to rule out some causes, bad blood sugar being one. I had to fight with a nurse to get it scheduled, though. I told her that I'd had gestational diabetes with both my kids and I know what high blood sugar feels like. She asked how old my kids were and I told her, and she responded, "Well, you deserve to be tired!" So since I have 2 small children I'm supposed to be tired all the time. Incapacitatingly tired. Can't move off the couch tired. Yes, that's normal with 2 kids. Sheesh. I hate when people talk to me like I'm stupid. After a bit more persuasion she finally scheduled me the appointment. We'll see what comes of it. I don't know what I want to results to be. High blood sugar will at least explain the exhaustion, but then that means diets and such. Regular blood sugar and that means I'll have to hunt down another cause for the tiredness. Lose, lose I guess.

I have quite a bit on the schedule this week, so hopefully I can stay busy and out of trouble. Have a great night all!

A hazy, lazy day.

Today I had fuzz in my brain. I couldn't think clearly and my creativity was nil. This last bit is concerning since I have 2 scrapbook pages that I have to have done before tomorrow at midnight. Otherwise, Andrea will beat me up for disqualifying us for the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race. I spent a lot of time today in front of the computer trying to force creativity through the muck in my head. Only after secluding myself in the closet for a bit (we have a very large, dark closet) and taking a bit of a nap was I finally able to feel more like myself.

We babysat tonight, for the people who babysat for us last night. They have one little girl who is a bit on the shy side. What's funny, is she only wanted Anton. Most little girls are not like that. But it was fine with me because it was so hot in our house I would've died if I'd had to hold her as much as Anton did.

I ate ice cream twice today. Shame on me. But thanks to a few people who mentioned the absolute goodness of Blue Bell ice cream, we are now addicted to their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. Oh my. It is fabulous!!! There is so much cookie dough in this stuff that it is nearly impossible to scoop out of the bucket. You hit so many chunks while scooping! Ummm.

But we really didn't do much else today. We were going to go somewhere, but we couldn't think of anything worth doing in the heat and I was feeling the pressure to complete my pages so we stayed home. I did manage to get 2 pages done, finally, tonight. But only one of them is one that is due tomorrow. The other was supposed to be, but it didn't end up that way. But here is what I've done:
This is for another one of the ADSR challenges. We had to scrap about something we were taught that has stayed with us our whole lives and that we want to pass on, or something like that. It took me a long time to think of something other than tying my shoes, which really isn't terribly applicable since I wear flip-flops all the time. Finally, while trying to sleep the other night this came to me.

It was meant to be a messy, cluttered LO, also for ADSR. But after getting to a point I just couldn't add anything else to it. So there is stands and I'll have to scrap more tomorrow.

So I guess that's it for today. Except I forgot to mention, we got an external hard drive and it came in the mail yesterday. I spent a good bit of time getting that set up and going today. We had to dig out another power strip since the one under the desk is completely full. As if 2 printers, speakers, subwoofer, a monitor, computer, modem, router and lamp isn't enough!
